The PRP Procedure
A blood sample is obtained from the patient and then placed into a machine that separates the components of the blood sample. Once spun, the “liquid gold” is collected and prepared. it’s then injected into the area of cosmetic concern or scalp area as needed.
This procedure is well tolerated. Soreness and mild swelling is expected for the first few days. After the procedure, A patient must avoid exercise, touching or massaging the area for 48-72 hours. In some cases, bruising can happen.
We highly recommend stopping Aspirin or Motrin based products for 7 days prior to treatment for it can contribute to bruising but also interferes with the PRP itself. A consultation can help you better decide if this treatment is best for you.
