What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy is a NEW technology procedure that is revolutionizing the field of orthopedic and cosmetic medicine. PRP uses components in a person's own blood cells to create a customized “cocktail” that stimulates an all natural healing process for facial cosmetic rejuvenation as well as for hair regeneration. Platelets are the cells in the blood that help tissue to heal and grow new cells. When PRP is injected into specific areas of the skin it acts as a matrix that promotes your own collagen to grow, regenerates tissue, as well as regenerates hair follicles and naturally smooths and tightens the skin. PRP softens wrinkles and creates smoother skin texture and tone. Cosmetic areas that are best suited for PRP are dark circles, puffiness under the eyes, fine lines and sagging around your mouth, cheeks, and eyes, diminished skin tone, and areas of thinning hair.

Platelet Rich Fibrin Matrix (PRFM) For Hair Restoration
PRFM is PRP with superhero powers. The fibrin matrix of the PRP serves as a three-dimensional scaffold to maintain the platelets at the site of injection (filler like). The scaffold also serves to protect the platelets so their release of growth factors can be sustained over a longer period of time. To better simplify things, PRFM yields stronger results because the “liquid gold” is held in place longer to release more stem cells and growth factors.
With PRFM, fewer treatments are needed for hair restoration than with standard PRP. Plus, when injected in the face, it can give mild volume to depleted areas. PRFM is slightly more expensive than standard PRP. Call for a free consultation for more information.

PRFM for Anti-aging
A blood sample is obtained from the patient and then placed into a machine that separates the components of the blood sample. Once spun, the “liquid gold” is collected and prepared. it’s then injected into the area of cosmetic concern or scalp area as needed.
This procedure is well tolerated. Soreness and mild swelling is expected for the first few days. After the procedure, A patient must avoid exercise, touching or massaging the area for 48-72 hours. In some cases, bruising can happen. We highly recommend stopping Aspirin or Motrin based products for 7 days prior to treatment for it can contribute to bruising but also interferes with the PRP itself. A consultation can help you better decide if this treatment is best for you.
What to expect
The goal of PRP skin rejuvenation therapy is to improve skin tone, texture, soften lines, tighten skin, reduce pores and add mild volume (with PRFM). Results begin to show 3-4 weeks after the treatment and continue to improve with time. Two to three treatment sessions are generally recommended, spaced 6 weeks to 2 months apart, depending on the type of PRP used to achieve the desired effect. Hair restoration has different recommendations. Please see our hair restoration page for more information.
Can we combine treatments?
Absolutely! For anti-aging purposes, PRP and PRFM can be added to almost all our treatment sessions. One of our favorites, combines micro-needling, PRP, PRFM, and 3 months of aftercare products.
